Food, drink & nails, need I say more?!
There are sometimes, where I am just so happy that I started my blog. One of those times was when I got invited to attend an event at London Grace. A wonderful new establishment that has opened in Putney ( those who know me well, know how much I love Putney). Opening three months ago, the brainchild of who I know now is a genius, Kirsten Hazell.
But, it doesn’t stop there. As soon as you walk
through the door, you know this place is going to be different, instead of
plastic chairs and overcrowded waiting areas, you are surrounded by exposed
brick, funky furniture and serene surroundings.
One of the first
big differences and one that catches your eye as soon as you walk in is the
coffee bar. With a gorgeous coffee machine, you know you will not be
getting an instant coffee in here. Hand crafted coffees, using beans that
are roasted in Shoreditch (another wonderful touch that Kirsten has
implemented, as all of the food and drink come from local suppliers), an array
of delightful sweet treats, and something that you cannot miss.

Now you have the 411 on the place, here is a little more
information on my evening!
The event itself, was to promote the fact that they have a function room 'The Grace Place' – perfect for bridal
showers, birthday parties, or for a gang of friends who want to get pampered
whilst enjoying a glass of fizz or two. Excellent idea really, and one that has
prompted my friend who attended with me, to start her 30th birthday
celebrations there!
I was left in the very capable hands of Jean, who is
fabulous, we had wonderful conversations, and the care she took in my nails was
phenomenal. Both Lindsay and I opted
for a ‘Top Notch’ Gel Manicure and chose this wonderful raspberry red colour
called wildfire, which I am now totally obsessed with!
After our mani’s we popped downstairs to
check out The Grace Space, again beautifully styled with exposed brick
walls, and really is a space that you can fill up with your best friends relax
and enjoy yourself. Downstairs, we
also found some delightful nibbles, most of which are available on the
menu. The cheese was to die for, and yet
again, locally sourced!
For the final part of the evening, we embarked on a ‘Gin Masterclass’ given by Sipsmith’s Gin and Fever -Tree.
I have never been a massive gin fan, I enjoyed
a sloe gin every now and then, but gin and tonic was never my thing. That was until I tried this! Turns out I was not adverse to the gin, it
was just the tonic that I didn’t like, but Fevertree have opened my eyes to a
whole new world! We sampled three
different gins. London Dry Gin, Sloe Gin
and Summer Cup. All three had different
mixers to compliment them – and boy did they compliment them!
The London Dry Gin and Tonic, was glorious –
the tonic was smooth and made for a really nice refreshing drink, something
that I had never found with Gin and Tonic before. The Sloe Gin was served with Bitter Lemon,
and this was my personal fave – tasty and light, and one I will be drinking
wherever I can find it!
Lastly we
sampled the Summer Cup and Lemonade. As
soon as you put the glass to your mouth, you get a delightful whiff of cucumber
and all things summery! Their lemonade
is so fresh, not overly sweet, and if they made me a diet version (always
watching my waistline) I would drink it all the time!
All in all a top evening, full of
pampering, wonderful inspiring people, and fun gin sampling. We were each given a little goodie bag with
the London Grace trademark colour ‘Grace’ that I can’t wait to rock over the
summer.
Congratulations Kirsten on this wonderful place you have created, I will be seeing you
very soon, I think it might be time for a pedi!
